In today’s world you would be hard pressed to find anyone that has not suffered with muscle pain. Whether it is experienced in the neck, back, head or jaw, muscle pain if persistent can be debilitating and impact the quality of one’s life.
Overworked, fatigued, sore and injured jaw muscles can impact chewing, speaking, jaw motion and even intimacy. Though there are many reasons why the jaw muscles can get into trouble, the most common reason remains daytime jaw overuse behaviors and postures (DJOBP) driven by emotions, thoughts, challenging life circumstances and worry.
The need for the TMJAID Roller
The muscle pain that occurs due to daytime jaw overuse behaviors and postures (DJOBP) is the result of the same muscles getting overtaxed day after day. Muscle pain, stiffness, soreness, and malfunction are the consequences often leading to limited jaw motion and eating limitations. The need to make available a simple, easy to use tool that when combined with education could start the process of recovery prompted the development of the TMJAID. With the knowledge that muscle health can be assisted and maintained by manual massage if received frequently, the need for an effective ‘carry around’ tool was recognized.
